UCC Mentore - Taguig

I'm a sucker for hot chocolate. I'm a little bit biased because you can never go wrong with it. I gotta say, their hot cocoa is amazeballs. I really recommend it! It's not thick enough tobut cause an upset stomach nor is it too thin and bland. It's just right. They really got the beverage thing going!!But...When I got to my Bangus Omurice, I was very disappointed. The milk fish had that not so nice fishy taste to it. Like that kind that means it's not fresh anymore. Although I loved the sesame glaze, it was a fishkill. I also didn't appreciate the Omurice In the menu, it looked like the authentic Omurice with soft and creamy eggs. They specified in the menu that it would have the soft and authentic egg as depicted in Omurice. There was also too much rice. I didn't even touch it because there were vegetables. Overall, I disliked this meal. It was an expensive disappointment. Kinda like my college education. Jk.

I love anything that is inside bread bowls (especially cheese). I came here specifically for Clam Chowder in Bread Bowl. It's not cheese but still inside bread!The taste was pleasant but very, very mild. I think Philippines has changed my perception of spicy and fragrant food. For an average Joe this soup is probably very vibrant, though. However, the idea of a soup inside bread is interesting. The thick milky broth has a lot of tiny potato cubes, which makes it very savoury. That said, I cannot commend their bread selection. It's baguette type of bread, which is nothing special talaga. Tinapay lang. They could've bought some decent bread from L'Artisan if they don't know how to bake it I've also tried Hot Sumiyaki Coffee (Syphon). I really enjoyed it with gatas at muscovado. The taste was very mild and tender (which is a good thing for me when it comes to coffee). The price of is quite steep for a tiny cup, but maybe it's worth it. I don't really know if the brewing method makes the difference. To me a lot of coffee tastes the same and I just wanted to try something new (the way they syphon it is a mini show).The bill was insane for what was ordered. meals, and drinks would result you in Maybe I'll go there for coffee lang. The food isn't worth a visit.

Personally one of my favorite spots. Great coffee, great environment for a chill day. Highly recommend the seats outdoors. The view may not be pretty but the comfort you get may surprise you.

Carbonara's serving was good for two, be ready! Longganisa through is not so special Total bill: P1,100-- not bad for two huge meals and great coffee????????

If any of you know the difference between UCC Mentore, Park Terrace, Vienna Cafe and Clockwork, please share. I would really like to know. Anyway, my foodie friends and I dropped by UCC Mentore at SM Aura after a less than satisfying dinner at Jin Joo. We needed our caffeine fix before the drive home, so I ordered my usual Kori Kohi. This coffee can be found in all the UCC branches I have tried so far, despite their different monickers. I always enjoy the experiment feels of this particular coffee. It comes with coffee cubes and you pour warm milk and sugar syrup over it. I like that you can adjust the milk and sugar to suit your taste preference. I also shared the strawberry cheesecake with another friend and I thought it was just okay. Among my friend's orders, I would recommend the affogato, though I think the Kori Kohi is already a good dessert substitute...???? Service was pretty good at this store... It's also very quiet during weekdays.
