Bad service! Was the queue has not heard for more than 30 minutes, my number was not called, the waiters consisted of my number to the next number, I was no 22 (seriously did not hear that they called my number, I was there all the time), So she called no 23 latter on I asked her in which number now, she answered 17, my husband asked again that she said that her figure has already expired, because now is the number 24, you have to reach back n. No.
The place looks authentic Korean. Grief Grief I enjoyed the spread. From the pages to the meat we ordered, and the seafood pancakes. However, I did not enjoy the soup, it wanted it spitdom. Grief Grief Will come here.
I went here for lunchtime, and there was no line, but when I left the store, there was a line. The hardworking meat was nice and I also had the Kimchi Jjigae, which was great.
There was a lot of hype and craze for this place from a lot of my friends. You have to be careful not to be lured to the one on Pitt St, but to the one further into the dark alley with the small sign 'Madang' flicking on and off. You can't miss it, you'll probably see a huge line with people holding 'raffle' tickets as they wait for their names to be called. To be frank, the waiting was a lot longer than I wanted (we were of course doing walk in, so that's our punishment). We waited 40 mins to be seated (make sure you listen very closely when they call your ticket numbers, because they will move very fast if you're not there!) Anyways, the KBBQ seemed reasonably priced in terms of the menu. Ordered the BBQ Modeum ($64) and we found the meats really fresh, with a special liking for the pork and beef, although the platter was a bit underwhelming in size for the price. We had Sam Gyup Sal ($14) and noted that the pork belly was sliced a little too thin and felt it could have been thicker, and it was also quite small in size too). The Tang Su Gi ($33) was a sweet and sour fried chicken, that tasted very similar to the chinese style fried chicken with its pineapples, and we felt the sauce was in excess, and there was more batter than actual meat in the chicken. The side dishes were nice. The staff constantly came to our table and tried to help us cook the meat (probably because there was a long line waiting for Friday night...). Overall, this KBBQ experience was average, and nothing as amazing as I had expected from all the hype reviews I had received. The staff was definitely trying to force us out of our table (and very much fairly so because people were waiting, but that made their service feel somewhat snappy). Would recommend to try once, but I probably wouldn't go back anytime soon on a Friday night.
