I often visit this place for their lunch plate option. Every time I order steak and I get side dish, salad and dessert too! Great food & service by lovely people. ❤️
Revisit the Mosaic restaurant in Westin Sydney after a while. It was fabulous before so expecting was high. Surprisingly, the restaurant was not busy at all on a Saturday evening. The menu was anything but interesting. Even most master chef contestants' dishes were more appealing than what was on the menu. I had the veal chop where the wild rice was so under cooked it hurt to chew. While other elements (brussel sprouts, panccetta, eggplant & procini) were cooked perfectly, I had difficulty to join them together. It was a plate of well cooked ingredients but didn't complement or work with each other. And the sauce was hardly noticeable. It could be what was missing that could bind everything together. With less than 5 tables in the restaurant, the waitress gave me a bill when I was still eating my dinner (the bill belonged to another table). Otherwise service was attentuve. Forget about the kerfuffle to go up one level (lift was the only way apparently) to the restaurant when there was a large function in the lobby and lifts were "reserved" to send party goers to lower level (even no one was going down so the lift was simply put on hold) and everyone else had to wait for a long time for the lift, what surprised me was that it applies surcharge on payment with credit card (VISA Master and AMEX regardless of amount). It operates like a take away eatery rather than a restaurant that charges $50 for a main. Also the lighting was so bright in every angle which gave a feel of a food hall. With average spending of $100 per head, it gotta give me more reasons to get out in a winter evening to spend that money again.

Not impressed. We had pork cheeks (which tasted like vegemite) and chicken breast (bland and tasteless). We were so disappointed, we decided we needed dessert to make up for the lousy main. The Creme Brulee was okay, but our other dessert was the wrong order. The order was Chocolate Mousse, but we were given Chocolate Fondant. When we pointed out the error, we were told, "Yes, that's Chocolate Mousse". Given the high price, this was just unacceptable. When we complained they took the cost of the coffee off the bill, which must have cost them all of $2. Whoopee. We left them with a feedback form including all of this info, and our contact details, but we are yet to hear from them. We won't be going back there.
