Amazing amazing sushi. I truly madly deeply love sushi but not all places return the same love to me. Makato is so near to where I work yet I don't know why I never came here! Fresh , yummy and quite interesting mix. It is a sushi train and so much more. Coming back for sure.
I ordered Sakura deluxe set for take away, but i didn't get Ikura Avocado rolls. I knew when i'd already got home. This's my first time here and also last time.
I was excited to try Makoto. I thought it would be more of a cheap eat, but the menu on here is outdated so the prices and options were different. The minimum plate was actually $3.00 and up and most of the options that circulated were $4.80 and $5.80 or specialty items. We enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients and the food. The options felt limited unless you stay for a longer time, then you start to see more variety. I ordered a kimchi udon bowl which took a long time to come out, but felt like a better value than the sushi.
Makoto is a popular sushi bar in World Square which serves a smorgasbord of ngiri, sushi and side dishes through conveyor belts. During my visit three weeks ago, my girlfriend and I helped myself to the spicy tuna sushi (wasn't expecting a cooked tuna), unagi ngiri, chawanmushi and an unagi sushi roll (Yup, I love unagi). Like majority of sushi chains in Sydney, the restaurant fail to notice the importance of rolling, compressing and slicing and provide proper training for their chefs to prepare the sushi. Ingredients weren't the freshest with an occasional tinge of musty and stagnant odour emitting from the sushi. Thankfully my unagi roll was delectable and tasty. Poor darling ????????
