The usual I get is the vegetable ramen: light soup with vegetables, sounds boring but it's delicious; I am guilty of ordering it every visit. When the craving hits for a flavourful and warm meal, Ichi-ban Boshi is the place to beat with it's great price point. Plus the variety means you're spoilt for choice. As I'm usually indecisive, it's just another excuse to return and try something new. Try to plan visits as there's usually a line. But the wait is not too bad. Plus, the friendly staff are organised with the tickets.
Located in a convenient space within the CBD and relatively cheaper ramen prices, this is a hot spot for those craving some ramen. The noodles are cooked well, however the broths lack depth. Despite it not being the best ramen out there, it's a good place for casual dining and hits the spot when you're craving something hearty. I usually go for the spicy ramen or the tonkotsu ramen which are both great. Service is average, considering it's a busy place, food is a bit slow to come out. Spacing between tables is also comfortable.
Came here several times before and never had any problems with foods and services although personally i think there are plenty Japanese restaurants in Sydney that charge less and tastier. The only reason i came back today because it was convenient for me to meet up with friends after finishing work. Foods was ok but service was terrible. Never ever have any experience this in any Japanese restaurant before. One girl staff was upset and keep looking at her watch because i was still waiting for my another 4 friends. I mentioned to the girl that serving at the queue outside that my friends still on the way, and she is more than welcome to put another group in, i am ok to wait for the next round. After offering twice, she still says its ok for me to come in. When i sat and started to order straight away, then 1 girl staff came to take my order. After finished ordering food, i was sitting and waiting for my friend and the rude girl came with her F looking face and looking at her watch to double check the time. I explained everything but she still giving that kind of F face and totally rude and started yelling the girl that serving the queue like she doesn't believe my explanation. NEVER EVER WILL COMING BACK THERE !!! and i wish I looked at her name tag so i can call the manager to give her a proper training to make sure that good service is also equally important as the food.

This place is always busy! On most days there are long lines of people waiting for a table - best to get in early or make a reservation to beat the queues. Ichiban Boshi does ramen really well - the broth is full of flavour and noodles are cooked just right. Their other dishes are also amazing. Service is good, but make sure you have cash!
