Cafe C'Ya - Sydney

A cozy restaurant serving authentic Korean. A great place for gatherings and groups more than 2, so you will be able to share more dishes. Portions are reasonably huge and good for sharing. KimChi fried rice is good, I love the homemade dumpling soup, unlike...the usual beancurd soup. Hot plate meat beef, pork or chicken is also worth ordering. There will also be side dishes accompanied with every order. Good extensive choice of menu, with clear colourful pics. I wish I am not alone- I want to order more !!

This is the second time I have eaten here. I stumbled across it on a work trip last time I had to come to Sydney. I tracked it down again this time as it is just a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere with the Korean...music is relaxed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had the bulgogi, a favourite dish for me, which was delicious. It was accompanied with steamed rice and a typical Korean hospitality practice of a selection of 5 small side accompaniments. The cost was quite modest, at only $19 with a can of Coke. It is tucked away in a laneway which makes it fairly quiet, but don't let that fool you, it is worth a visit.

Ate dinner here while visiting Sydney. Food was decent and fast. Restaurant is comfortable. Food taste is authentic for the most part and the cost OK. The restaurant has tables an chain, sofas, tc for a variety of seating, making this place reasonably homey and...casual in feel. English and Korean is spoken here. By the way....they have Lemonade on the menu....ordered it for our 11 year old daughter....turns out their lemonade is actually a can of Sprite.

The braised short ribs are hit and miss; almost like they have a pot out back and are just mixing new and old cause the tenderness can range from melt in your mouth amazing-ness to as I've shown....paper bark levels of stringy-ness....otherwise, gorgeously overcooked carrots and pumpkin ("is an overcooked carrot in a meaty sauce ever a bad thing; no" - Anthony Bourdain) The tofu soup....can't mess that up.... A hit or miss score for a hit or miss place :)
