Akaneya Japanese - Sydney

Food is normal, sushi and sashimi is not fresh enough. Plus one of the waitresses attitude was very bad. She was rude and unwilling to answer my question when we tried to order. Not recommend

Love their sukiyaki undon noodle and sashmii boat. The sashimi was extremely fresh. The place was really quiet and nice. Would be a good place if you can not find any vacancy in CBD No dessert though

Akaneya is an in-between Japanese place. Its not as good as the top end of the scale but it also makes you feel better than buying a sushi roll from the Jap place round the corner. Its nice that you can sit down and enjoy a bento box without a cut throat price tag. I had a not very authentic salmon teriyaki bento drenched in a bit too much teriyaki sauce, the salad was soaked in a bit too much vinegar. My lunch mate had a more convincing looking chicken katsu bento. But hey, its one of those places that you go to when you are out of options and still want a relatively healthy sit down lunch and for that I am thankful that Akaneya is always there to the rescue!

I love Akaneya sushi - it's super fresh and the staff are super efficient and friendly. For a high-quality take away or casual sushi and udon noodle (I always get the simple, mini) it's hard to beat. Unlike some of the smaller and sharper priced places, the sushi available for lunch in their take away cabinet is marked as packed at 11am and you are advised to eat the sushi within a few hours of purchasing it. I like this level of detail and service. I have always found the sushi and soup to be very fresh and tehrefore delicious. I haven't eaten much else on the menu so for more knowledge on other dishes other reviews may help.

I was passing by this restaurant going back into work at lunchtime and there was a queue of people here so I thought it would be pretty good. The portion size is massive for the teriyaki chicken bento box for $13 takeaway. The gyoza and tempura obviously wasn't as fresh by the time I had it and neither was the rice but the flavour was really good.
