It's easily reached from the ground floor by escalator or lift and is very spacious with lots of comfy seating. There is a fairly extensive menu with some unusual things on it like fish finger butty etc. We settled on the sausage, chips, peas and gravy and Vegetable Burger with chips and salad. Both meals were really nice, the gravy especially and my Vegetable burger was lovely tasting in a large fresh bun also with cheese and mushroom inside. We had a bottle of coke and a cup of tea and the whole lot came to £13 which was good value for what we had. The staff were friendly and chatty and our drinks were brought over to us within a couple of minutes and food the food after about 10 mins. Will certainly visit again.
I have visited this restaurant three times now. The first time was really nice, with friendly staff and hot, fresh food. The second time was okay, but the food wasn't as good and it seemed like they had new, young staff who weren't very talkative or smiley. The ladies' toilet had a bad smell, but I'm not sure if that's the cafe's responsibility or the staff's. The third time, the food was okay, but the staff didn't know much about the menu when we asked questions. The cutlery was dirty and the toilets were in poor condition. I might have just caught them on bad days. I will give it one more try, but if the same issues persist, we will go elsewhere.
After noticing that the cafe offered an all-day breakfast option, we decided to dine there. The cafe is located on the upper level, accessible by escalator. The store had a somewhat disorganised layout, with a confusing setup. The counter at the cafe did not have any displays of cakes or sandwiches, and these items were not listed on the menu. We ordered the middle-sized all-day breakfast, which came with coffee and toast, at a reasonable price. Despite only one person serving, they were busy with previous orders. It took nearly 15 minutes for our lattes to be brought to our table, and over 30 minutes for our meals to arrive. The quality of the food was average for the price. There were only 9 other occupied tables, so we wondered about the service during busier times. Despite arriving at 1:10 PM (even though the receipt showed an hour later), the service was lacking. As someone with a background in customer service, I would rate the meal a 7/10 and the customer service a 2/10. It was a shame that the management had not addressed the issues raised by previous reviewers. (The cost was 2 breakfasts at £4.95 each, plus a £1 upgrade to lattes each.)
The restaurant is spacious and modern, featuring beautiful wooden tables and chairs of various shapes and sizes, as well as striking framed pop art on the walls. Myself, along with my two sisters and mother, decided to visit the restaurant for coffee and a snack after shopping. Despite the appealing appearance of the restaurant, we were disappointed to find it empty, lacking in atmosphere, and with empty shelves behind the counter. We had hoped to enjoy sandwiches with our coffees, but they were not available. The lack of background music only emphasized the silence. Although our order was eventually taken and brought to our table, the service was slow and unfriendly. More effort should be made to promote the restaurant and attract customers, as it has the potential to be a great spot for shoppers to gather for coffee and lunch with friends. It's a shame to see such a lovely space going to waste.
Omg worst customer service ever...go here and wait 25 minutes for a cup of tea...not staff fault it looks like complete lack of management and coordination. Looks like it could be lovely if they could get it right.
