Over The Hedge - SWAN REACH

We were out touring and stopped for a break at the Over The Hedge Cafe, as it was over looking the Tambo River. We were pleasantly surprised walking up the drive way admiring the gardens, the restored artifacts and trinkets. Once we got inside, which was on the balcony, we thought that we were at a tropical paradise. You could definitely see that the hosts had a passion for the way they wanted to present their place. Even the toilet/bathroom was well thought out.Now the Food. Well it is all made on site and didn't taste like plastic, and even had Gluten free calamari on the menu. All items were reasonable priced. Although they were busy the coffee was made perfectly to our requirements. The cakes were also made on site and they used fresh cream. We definitely will be going back for another perfect afternoon.

Good simple food, nice peaceful place to chill out, would recommend as a go to when needing a haven and a feed and/or going for a weekend drive.

Great atmosphere. Sit out on the veranda, food home made, friendly staff, lots of memoribilia around the property. brings back memories of yesteryear. Nice place to relax and soak up the atmosphere

Had wonderful lunch with dear friends for our 42nd anniversary. very picturesque and pleasant surroundings . Staff are very obliging and the food is great. Definitely return again.

Beautiful Cafe overlooking Tambo River see picture one; we met a couple having coffee who had come in an old MG Sports car that he wanted to sale; then we drove to the top of Mt Raymond see picture4, great view;
