La Mixteca Tamale House - Suwanee

Uuuuuhm, yum! Go get you some. I have friends who make authentic tamales. While these aren't theirs, these are VERY delicious in their own right. Would definitely go back. And where can you get non fast food food for less than $10?!?!Food: 5/5

Just moved here and have been getting a lay of the land. Stopped for gas and saw La Mixteca Tamale House. Growing up in El Paso, TX and being spolied when it comes to tamales I had to stop in and check it out. BEST DECISION EVER! Man these tamales are perfect in so many ways. No 1. The masa has flavor and the meat feeling is onpoint. No 2. They make their tamales with the perfect meat to masa ratio, so many places it's all masa or all meat and no masa. Any true hispanic that grew up making these knows how important that is! No 3. They place is very clean and service was very fast, fantastic customer service!Food On This Visit:Tamale Combo Plate w/Green Chile ChkAl a carte: Spicy Red Pork, Spicy Green PorkBonus Points: Refried Beans are made correctly and spanish rice was perfect!Even on a bad day I could never see this place under a 4 ?. Not sure why these haters have left 1 ? reviews. Definetly, does not deserve that at all! HIGHLY RECOMMEND 5?

I love this little place. The food has great flavor and they serve good portions. I am always attended quickly and with respect. This place doesn't disappoint so I hope it is open for many more years :)Food: 5/5

Randomly popped in today and realized I’ve been missing out on this little gem. It’s in a gas station plaza, so you wouldn’t think much of it, but I was pleasantly surprised. A fairly large space, very clean and modern. I ordered at the front and received a number to take to a table. My meal came out within minutes. It’s was delicious! I ordered the cow tongue taco and a mild chicken tamale. Will be back for more!

All the negative comments sound like people want free food, and want to be treated like royalty? If you can’t afford it, then eat at home. The food at this place is amazing, I eat there at least 1x a week. The servers have always been kind to me. The tamale bowl is hands down one of the best items to get.
