Invited by friends to join them for dinner. Was a bit worried when walked in and saw tired decor, which may date back to when restaurant established in 1969. Then again thought, food must be good otherwise couldn't possibly survive in this part of Surry Hills which has an abundance of Lebanese restaurants.Everyone decided to go with super banquet. Homus and baba ganoush very nice, but falafel best I have tasted in a long time. Chicken and lamb kebabs very good as well. No major whinges.Minor whinges 3 . Chairs uncomfortable, Lebanese bread either day old or not best quality, Lebanese coffee watered down

I don't know if this place has new and inexperienced management or what but it has declined in its quality since I was there 18 months ago.The bread tasted as though it was frozen....it arriving in a freezer bag didn't help.The vine leaf and cabbage rolls were served in their own brine which was acrid and not pleasant.The meat dishes were dry and tasteless...the store-bought tahini didn't help.Fatima's should go back to fresh home-prepared food because that's why locals used to return there to eat.

We had dinner here on a hot summer's evening. The place seemed unfair conditioned and so I sweated during dinner. The waitress was a bit inexperienced and it took a while to get the order right. The meat platter was good - nice dips and freshly cooked meats but the vegetation platter was greasy and uninteresting with too much fried. A mixed experience.

WE ate here at least once a week during our month in Sydney got to know the staff and had our favourite dishes. Thanks for having us.. we tried a couple of others but would recommend Fatimas if you are wondering. WE picked it on our first night as it was busy and warm with lots of veggie options .. good choice. Love the cauliflower on the veggie list. Liked the old fashioned feel.. been there a while.. watch out for the light rail.
