Thanks
Afghan Master Kebab cooks its kebabs with charcoal; this gives the kebabs a special tang of wood smoke. The chef cooks the kebabs very carefully; they taste just right and come out tender. The kebabs come in a number of varieties. The Afghan Master Kebab will reward a visit if you have not had kebabs previously.
We went to the Afghan Master Kebab Restaurant in Essendon North. We had kebabs, served on a plate of long grain rice and kobida kebab, mince skewers with salad. We also had a whole barbecued chicken. All the dishes were cooked on a charcoal fire. The only quibble was that my dining partner felt some mariande on the chickem would make it more tasty. The Afghani bread was also cooked on charcoal, it was crisp on the outside and soft in the middle very enjoyable.
Very disappointed with the chicken briyani. $17 for a portion like this. I won’t go there again Poor service
I have tried authentic Kebabs when I was in New Delhi, India (Khan Chacha and Kebab Xpress) and visit to Afghan Master Kebab was completely unplanned. I was visiting my friend in Sunshine and being a Middle Eastern guy, he suggested me to try this place for dinner. It was more like a Pakistani/Afghan cuisine. The restaurant location is a walkable distance from the nearest railway station (Sunshine) and from the bus station nearby. The ambiance was average. There is also a traditional form of seating on the floor at one end of the restaurant. The staff found clueless about the cuisine as I could see her struggling even to pronounce the name of dishes. I wish she could at least manage a warm and welcoming face. Moving on, we ordered Kebabs, Bread, Rice, and Lamb Curry. You can grab tea bags and hot water at the counter for free. As I was grabbing my favorite Pepsi Max, I noticed they have all sorts of soft drinks. We had a sumptuous meal. The bread was really big and I am sure I haven't tasted anything like that before. It was a bit crispy on the outside and very soft and airy on the inside. Though the lamb curry was delicious, the gravy was little watery for my taste. Wish they could provide us with some sauce or mayonnaise for the Kebabs. Talking about the quantity, I would say, I dish was enough for two people.
