Family vacation and took them for lunch for the experience. We were a party of 7 and we checked in at our reservation time and the hostess said we are setting your table it will be a few minutes, no problem. After a half an hour of waiting she asks me the name again and said oh your party is already seated, I said no their not because we are all right here and have been. After another 10 minutes with the front of house manager doing her thing we were seated. No I am sorry, we had a mix up, she said absolutely nothing to any of us. Of course this blew up the poor waiter, who was great, who is now running behind and his area is slammed. So everything was delayed a bit but it worked out. Food and drinks were good, Fondue, Bison Chili, Truffle Fries, Burger, everyone was happy with the food. In the end, the front of the house staff is terrible at the desk and in management, no one said anything to us about it.
Booked through OpenTable for a reservation about a month in advance for lunch. I think you can come without a reservation if you get here right when they open. My boyfriend and I were skiing so we did not need to purchase a gondola ticket up. For the rest of our party, I believe the ticket was around $20. Which can be bought at the River Run ticket office. Our reservation was at 11am, but they didn't open doors until 11:05am. They also couldn't open their door lol. Service was ok. They didn't seem to be too organized. Food was good, fresh, but not out of this world. I did enjoy the fondue, but I felt that the fondue was a little bit low. The grilled beef was really tender and I liked the fruits that accompanied the fondue. They had a vegan salad for my bf's mom and she thought it was pretty good. Burgers seemed good, but not amazing. Restrooms clearly wasn't prepared for opening..had to change the toilet paper roll at 11am. The ambiance is very nice, warm and cozy, with real fireplaces. Too bad it was super snowy! We couldn't see the view : Once you get in the restaurant, then you will understand why it is called Roundhouse!
What a fun experience to stop for lunch while skiing and a great view. Two great bars. Make sure you make a reservation. Our food was very good. Four of us had lunch and I had the salmon sandwich with a side of slaw. Others got the elk meatballs and smoked salmon appetizer. Our service was very slow due to it being so busy.
We dined here at noon during one of our ski days. I totally recommend it, as the food selection, taste, and service were all very good. Also, it's not really out of line from a cost standpoint compared with the other options on the mountain. Truly an iconic restaurant that shouldn't be missed!
