Good, the bad, and the ugly on Fri Jul 5 FIRST: Most of the reviews and the photos here are incorrect. They are for the other original location in Killarney. This location is in a dingy land locked strip mall plaza NOT near water with no exterior seating. NOT the quaint free standing building shown in some photos. GOOD: The fish was GREAT! We came here because local trout and pickerel are the fish they use, not haddock or halibut like you usually find. Lots of smaller pieces lightly battered. Decent amount of fresh cut french fries. BAD: Sticky tables and slow service. Was told 20 min, but ended up being 40. I don’t mind being told it’s going to be longer for fresh made, but let’s be honest. It would be better if they actually outlined on the menu what type of fish you were going to get, since people typically expect halibut. Location and decor are poor. Prices are also much higher than average. UGLY: So this is what destroyed our experience. I split open two different pieces of fish and brought them up to the cash to ask the guy what type of fish each of these were. He proceeds to pick it up and poke each one while telling me what they are. This is right after handling the cash!!! I was shocked! Now if that’s what he did, I was worried what things were like in the back. Let’s hope the cook’s hygiene was better. This is why I hate tipping at the cash when you first purchase.

Fish and chips were good but crazy expensive for 30 bucks only to come without lemons. Coleslaw kinda sucked too and packet tartar sauce sumed up a less than awesome experience.

The fish was very good. It was fresh lightly battered delicious. I was greeted by Jack who I assume works in the kitchen, exceptional customer service. March 31 2022 3:00pm I was shocked from the service I received from Monique. I place an order for four pieces of fish I asked for extra tartar sauce, she rudely said to me .50 cents each, I said I just previously ordered 10 minutes ago she rudely said no you can’t afford I walked out not completing purchase due to her comment. To be fair I gave a five star review before but after today I had to change to one star sorry Jack you’re a Goodguy your food represents the quality of yourself but imported workers that don’t share Canadian values…

If there was a zero star option it still wouldn't be able to properly describe how terrible this place is. The moment you walk in you can tell any good reviews were contrived. Absolutely disgusting. Should and will be closed within a year. Can not describe how petrude that fish was.

We stopped for dinner at Herbert Fisheries our first night in Killarney. The restaurant has a few tables inside, but we ate at one of the many picnic tables on the pier. The fish isn't huge, so don't just order one piece. They're more like the size of a chicken finger. Fish, chips and onion rings were very good. Location was great too, right on the water.
