Tommy's Not Here - Sudbury

We are from Toronto who happened to be in Sudbury for business trip. Decided to try this place due to high google rating. The place is not easily spot. But google map is bang-on! Very nice restaurant. Love the fragrance as soon as we walk in. Nice decor/staircase. Impeccable service! Very delish food, from appetizer to dessert. Unforgettable dessert (bread pudding with mango peach and vanilla ice cream) was perfect 'closing '. Will definitely go back if we are in the area again.

I was a walk-in and was served. Server was very good and checked in on my meal often. I ordered the filet wrapped in bacon (medium) with veggies and a skillet of mushrooms. While I waited for my food, I couldn't help but think that I was sitting in Hell's Kitchen. The chefs were having a discussion on how a cook had to walk to work... during this discussion there must have been 20 F-bombs. I am not a prude, but when I want fine dining for $50+ a plate I expect professionalism and good food. The steak was at best a medium. The veggies were cooked well and the taste was good. To sum it up, I would give this place another shot with a different dish and distance from the kitchen.

Dinner at Tommy's is always a treat and this was no exception. Tonight was a pre-lockdown Christmas celebration, so we went all-out and decided to go decadent. Of course Tommy's was the best choice for this. We decided to share everything and just nibble as we sipped on some fine wine. The Angels&Cowboys was a perfect recommendation by our waiter. Nicest cab I've had in recent memory. We took the name of the rep and will be ordering a case. Simply superb. For apps, we inadvertently went with a mushroom theme, which worked out well. Our shared apps included the portobello mushroom crostini, delicate and crunchy at the same time. I devoured mine in 3 bites. The portobello stacker is always satisfying and my favourite menu item. I should have ordered one just for me. Third was that famous warm spinach salad. Wow. Sweet and complex flavours of maple, balsamic and again with more mushrooms. Unreal. Nearby tables acknowledged our orgasmic smiles and moans. Mains were simple and elegant. I got the lamb shank with the famous risotto suggested by chef Matt. Unreal. My dinner guest had the ravioli. I ate 1/4 of hers because it was insanely sublime. My lamb was falling off the bone and sent shivers down my neck with the first bite. Why can't I cook like this? Amazzzing. Dessert measured up, too. She had a simply perfect creme brule and i devoured a Christmas pudding with a mountain of cream on top. Thick and hearty but not too sweet. Three hours later, after some fancy coffees, we were floating in heaven. Food should be celebrated and this place give us reason to love life, even in weird times. Support local businesses. These guys do everything right. Tommy's is, by far, Sudbury's best kept secret. Excellent service, superb food with nice understated vibe... and excellent value. We will be back...again...and again.

The service and food were excellent! Despite fitting us in at the bar with no reservation, they took great care of us. The food was outstanding, and the service was friendly and exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience!

A Hidden Gem, very friendly, clean, quiet, But yes there is a room for a large group. Food is always perfect from an App to my Favourite entrees. As always we don't mind the wait for Freshness!!! Not a huge menu But definitely something for everyone to LOVE....
