Siamo stati in questo ristorante dietro suggerimento di un’amica che ci va spesso. Abbiamo mangiato e bevuto molto bene. Titolari e personale molto gentili e disponibili. Consiglio vivamente la frittura di pesce.
We waited an age to be served. The staff were too busy trying to cram more customers into the restaurant rather than serve the ones that were there. The Fritto Misto Mare was supposed to be a selection of fresh fried fish. We received some tired, tasteless, unseasoned scraps of squid and un deveined prawns. They would have been a prime candidate on an episode of Ramsay’s kitchen nightmares . The other meal of “pork fillet” was a dry, overcooked ball of chaff with a gravy that, as listed by an earlier customer, tasted like a packet mix from the 70’s . Unsurprisingly, not one of the staff that came to collect the plates or take payment asked if we enjoyed the meal. They probably knew what response to expect. Don’t be fooled by the crowded restaurant. Take some time to walk around a bit further and find a genuine Italian restaurant.
OK is the only way to put it. The food isn't bad, and it's in a nice location on the lakeside, but there are better options there.
I eat in restaurants 300+ meals a year and I rarely go back two times in a rough to the same restaurant but Mamma Mia deserved a second round with no interruptions. We met Carmela and her team the first time 10 years ago when we came in Stresa with a grp of friends from the US. This is undoubtedly the best restaurant in town. Good food, fresh fish, top notch pizzas and the most important quid… the friendly and very professional team. I only remember 2 names, Minù and Melina but the plause is for the entire team. Grazie from me, Cristiana, Steve and Joan for the 2 great dinners and your ability to transform a good meal into a great experience all around.
