Mel's Downtown Creamery - Stonington

So happy to find Hawaiian style shaved ice! You can ask for more than 1 flavor : I got strawberry banana then added soft serve vanilla to the bottom. Next time I think I’ll do hard ice cream because it melted by the time I got to the bottom. I also picked up a pint of NSA Coffee Toffee to go. Service was great the atmosphere is so cute! Street parking is easier than trying to park in the back. Bit hard to figure out which stalls are for the businesses vs apartments.

Lots of options including vegan non dairy and frozen yogurt. Lots of flavors to choose from. Generous amounts. Friendly service. Not overly crowded. Very good pricing. You won't be disappointed that you stopped here for icecream or shaved ice or a float or shake. You can reuse the green shaved ice cup also as a planter.

Fantastic!! The gal behind the counter was very helpful. She gave her opinion on flavors that go well together. Wonderful old-school atmosphere.

I love this place! We have come here for years when we are in the area and recently ordered 2 ice cream pies for Christmas festivities- they were a hit!! I also love that the have gluten free items as one of my family members has a gluten allergy. They were more than accommodating and provided us with the most delicious gluten free ice cream pies I also threw my pregnant friend a “baby sprinkle” here and it was great! Mel and her crew have the best customer service, a fun atmosphere and the best selection of high quality treats. They also host so many community events and fundraisers. Check it out! You won’t be disappointed!

Such a family friendly delicious environment! They have so many flavors to choose from but I usually stick with Graham Central Station or the PB sundae! Best place for a cool treat year round!
