I ordered the halibut and fries, but what I received was definitely not halibut. It was disappointing, as I had heard great things about Hutch's from others. Next time, I'll be sure to take their advice and head to Hutch's instead.
In trying to support local, we ordered for pickup yesterday. First impression when looking at the food...looked good. First bite of fish was good, batter was nice and crispy. It went downhill from there. More bites meant more batter, less fish. It was more like a tempura batter like what you get with chicken balls than the crispy batter I am used to. We ordered the cod and it is usually ‘meatier’. This wasn’t. Will not go back, sorry
Ordered delivery and got some great fish and chips! Coleslaw a little heavy on the mayo and packaged tartar but the fish was so fresh and the batter crispy you can overlook that!
Our family of four includes members with Celiac disease, so we were thrilled to find such delicious gluten-free fish and chips. The batter was not greasy at all, making it the best we've ever had. While the interior could use a bit of sprucing up with new paint and lights, we will definitely be returning to the Stoney Creek location. We have yet to try the Grimsby one.
Bought a family dinner was priced out individual at first so I had 4 different taxes added to my bill. The fish was absolutely covered in grease and the fries were completely dried out. The drive home wasn’t even 10mins and it was cold to the touch. It came with no tarter sauce, I’m assuming that’s an extra you have to pay for on top of your order. I won’t be back. I’d prefer to stand in line for an hour at hutches And get free tartar sauce.
