Sixpenny - Stanmore

We came to Sixpenny on Thursday night for dinner. The meal was great, and I would argue the best I ever tasted, and this includes Michelin rated restaurants and some of the best of London and Paris. Why do I say that? 1.... The extraordinary freshness of the various dishes. 2. The intensity of the aromas. 3. The elegance of the components for each dish; not to overwhelm as many components and to contribute to a perfect marriage of ingredients that allows both the individual ingredient to shine and to the synchronous result. 4. The elegant presentation of each plate. So many restaurants miss the sign by trying to impress and fall in pretension. Sixpenny is simply elegant. The Spring Pea Tart with Whipped Goats Curd must be the price for its outstanding taste and freshness. The roasted barley Koji ice cream with pear and Marsala was just sensational. Thank you.

Our first three-hate dining experience here in Sydney, absolutely first-class food and service, even the part is bigger than most fine dining in Sydney, does not feel like we spent 4 hours in the restaurant! I hope we can come back, can't wait!

Sixpenny is one of the best restaurants in Sydney for the finer taste. Although the venue is not large and looks quite dated, the service was excellent, although all tables were full. Especially the 6 courses of food served on... the table tasted very good and finely spiced. The presentation was not overly like several other overrated places with more emphasis on too much gimmicky presentation, but not taste good enough.

The service is amazing and the food is exceptional. I'm very nice touching the chefs explain every dish. Great wine selection and bread is the next stage. A small disappointment is that to calculate a credit card surcharge on an expensive meal, I should think to be absorbed within the price.

Attention to detail in service, preparation and service right down to synchronised plate laying on tables. Great theatre! We had the paired wine tasting menu. Amazing food-delicate,punchy and ingenious flavours combined to delight and entice the taste buds. We said delicious many times! Two guests...per staff member to ensure that the overall experience is prestigious and attentive. Save your pennies for fabulous dining experience! Decadent and moorish! Well worth it!
