The Tasting Room (stanford Hills Estate)

Had the worst experience. Loadshedding, no coffee. Other customer got plunger coffee, we were not offered at all,not even tea. Ordered omelet, was told we can add any topping, not informed it was extra. Waitress never checked on us and we had to go look for them asking for the bill. Never had such bad service. This is all about the setting! Wonderful area to relax and enjoy the dam and mountains, vineyards and surrounding greenery. Wonderful sounds of birds and ducks, very friendly and if you lucky you’ll get to see one big pig. He’s very much the local attraction here. Overall taking it slow is the gear to be in, don’t expect “on it” service or the speed kind it’s country. The one waitress was even at work drunk as a skunk lol so I guess that’s just how things go here. Overall nice relaxing place to visit with a massive area for kids to run and play. They have a kids play area and it’s awesome for the little ones but peaceful enough to enjoy too as it’s not ontop if you lots of space. Food was ok and fresh, all the normal favorites you’ll find like pizza, burgers etc. Couldn’t order Milkshakes as they had no stock then had then didn’t have again so no idea about that lol Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly open space for kids to run and play.
