Met the new owner/chef upon arrival, was undecided what to have, he said he would make one of his most popular dishes,(house special vermicelli). It was amazing, cannot wait to go back and try something else, priced reasonably. Will be back!!!
I came here a little while ago with my friend, this was my second time and it might be my last. The first time I came here I only got the wonton soup and wasn't to thrilled about the taste or anything else really, but didn't think to much of it because I only tried one thing. When I came in with my friends, I thought to give this place a second chance. I got what was supposed to be pad thai, but it was awful, there is nothing good I can say abut it at all, it was actually one of the worst pad thai's I've had in a really really long time. I was extremely disappointed and couldn't even finish the food it was so off putting. My friend didn't have much to say about what she got either, she got the hot and sour soup which she said tasted like watered down sweet and sour sauce and some kind of spice....and the chicken lo mein which she said was mediocre as well and she didn't like the noodles. I wasn't t thrilled with the service either, initially they greeted us and were pleasant, but generally ignored us and the asian lady at the front was really rude when I tried paying with debit. Although the restaurant is clean, that was probably the only highlight of coming in here. Will definitely not be returning.
Several people recommended this place; and wife and I had fantastic meal here. Nice chicken curry and price is right on. Had decentl left overs that tasted almost better the next day. Just note that Lucky Kitchen is not the same as Lucky Gardens - place that used to be in Lucky Kitchen current location.
The restaurant is always tidy and clean. The service staff are prompt and welcoming. From the extensive menu, I selected a "House" special and was delighted with my choice. It was served quickly, hot and delicious with freshly cooked vegetables. This isn't my first time there but I decided that I should share my positive experience with others. I've noticed that they have a busy take out business that likely is a larger volume than the eat-in patrons. I will certainly return!
We were in the mood for Asian and drove Talbot St. in St. Thomas and saw this place so went in this evening. I quickly was served a lovely bowl of wonton soup and a spring roll. My wife's combo for one was the sesame chicken, chicken fried rice and egg roll for $8.99. She brought half of it home for tomorrow's lunch. I had the steamed rice with beef, onion, mushrooms and ginger. It was all hot except the mushrooms which were large and so I suspect were prepped and not reheated quite long enough. Other than that we were quite pleased and would try this restaurant again. The combos for one are a good choice.
