Veludo - St Kilda

On Wednesday evening visited veludo. had steak cooked medium rare and right. the accompanying chips were sprinkled into crumbs before they were boiled, giving them a pungent taste. the salat was the right mix. the waiter was attentive, without being intrusive and. the service was fast. my man spiled something so eaten on his hemd and was presented with a glass of water and a serviette to wipe it off. love comes here as in st. kilda.

About an hour after our arrival we finally got our very usual meals; steak and salmon both overcooked and risotto tasteless. we had to order approx. 30 minutes after the order change that we were not available to the lamb and porterhouse....Getting served drinks were difficult as they were obviously underused. my friends and I will never return!

The foods and drinks are quite averaged on their Friday night after veludos, but this is not the reason why I rated these 5 stars. veludos brings a great atmosphere not in their names, but because of the people who take part in the Friday. cheap drinks, good...music, fun people, don't know what else you could want. you young should keep it better, because this is the only reason I come back.

Many times we frequented this restaurant for breakfast and dinner. We had a fabulous time! I think it has new owners and the last dinner and breakfast were a terrible experience. We met friends for dinner previously and the staff were ignorant. We had to...ask for a menu, after waiting a while. The music was very loud, we couldn't hear our friends talking! We ask for it to be lowered, then after a while, it was loud again! Yesterday we went to have breakfast. Firstly, we arrived at 10 am for breakfast, we have previously been at 8 am. The staff , especially a young lady, spoke to us in a very unfrirndly fashion and told us to come back at 10.30 when they open! We walked the street and returned to be told by this woman you can have a coffee, they had put up a small board now that says kitchen is being renovated! I explained we have been walking around for half and hour, why didn't you tell us the first time we spoke to you! This lady has a terrible manner for business. We would not employ her in ours. We went two doors down to the left of their restaurant and had breakfast with lovely staff and a delicious breakfast! Veludo, you have lost us and our friends for good!

Terrible service on Saturday night, sat at table for 20 mins before waitress came to see if we wanted to order drinks no drinks menu on table, so had to wait some more. Drinks and meals ordered soon after, waited, waited and then waited...some more for drinks to arrive they did after asking where they were. waited a further 55 mins for meals to come out, in this time people that had come in some time after us, had been served their meals. Waitress very apologetic however meals sub standard and definitely not worth the money or wait! Wont be going back.
