Przekaż informację zwrotnąBoth the quality of the service and the food was less than expected. We ordered wine by the glass, salads as entrees and a bruschetta. The salads were limp. The bruschetta was not what we expected or ever experience before. Don't know where they found the recipe. The wine although good was not what we ordered. The quality of the food and service did not justify what we paid.
Was hoping for something a little better than bar food. Specifically asked if the fish and chips was good and was told yes. When it arrived, it could have been from just about anywhere. Standard stuff. Expected better in Newfoundland. Good beer selection and friendly service compensated for the disappointment although $9 for a local draught beer, Iceberg, is a bit steep. Ok to to fulfill your appetite, but if you are looking for something different or local authentic, you need to look elsewhere.
We ordered the nutty chicken salad and fish and chips. The fish and chips was okay, but the nutty chicken salad was terrible. The chicken was equivalent to luncheon meat and certainly did not justify the $12 price tag. I would not recommend this restaurant as a lunch time spot to anyone, as far as I'm concerned there are much better places to go in St. Johns.
I wasn't impressed with any of the food, the salmon was tough and not a soft texture, the prime rib was tough and very hard to cut. The only thing that I really liked were the deserts which was a great selection of pies and creamy cakes.
It's a nice looking place and the servers are friendly and efficient, but what is all comes down to is this: The food is "just ok" and the cost is "not ok."
