City Light Buffet - St. John's

They have very poor customer serviceAfter waiting 3 hours from placing my order for delivery, I called to check on the status.

Never,ever have we been disappointed when we eat here. Plenty,hot,filling,and if the dish we were looking for in the buffet wasnot there,they made it for us.Topping up tea,water, checking on if your enjoying your meal...REPEAT,REPEAT and repeat returns always for our special outing days.

After reading the reviews we thought that we would try this Buffet.Everything and I mean everything was bland and zero flavor,The sauces they used tasted like they had watered them down.The pepper shrimp was just a name for small deep fried shrimp as I guess they ran out of pepper or decided to cut cost and omit the pepper.They advertise the largest Buffet but I would really doubt that also.The $13.95 is a ok price for a buffet if the food was edible and had some flavor to it.The house special pork had again zero flavor.The people who think that this a great buffet have never either had properly prepared chinese food or only eaten poor Newfoundland chinese,the sushi look like it was leftovers from the night before, we wont be back.

When you arrive you can't help but notice that much of the building and parking lot is in desperate need of repair. A lot of crumbling concrete, etc. Anyway, the interior is nicely furnished and is very clean. Our party of six adults and a 6 month old baby were greeted in a friendly manner by the waitstaff. Their attentiveness continued throughout our meal as sodas were quickly refilled and dirty plates removed.I was quite impressed by the large variety of food presented in the buffet and everything I tried was better than average. It was the best Chinese food I've had during many visits to NL. To me, the only negative was that, except for one soup, there was a total lack of any spicy food. I guess chili peppers are not a big favorite.I thought that the price of the buffet was very reasonable considering the quality and variety of the food offered. Our party left totally satisfied and hope to dine there again.

I have been to this restaurant on many occasions and have never been disappointed. One suggestion though; go at or near 12 or 6 pm when you will get the largest selection.
