The staff showed great expertise and suggested some excellent dishes. The Kung Pao Chicken was a delight!
The restaurant staff is knowledgeable about gluten-free and dairy-free options. The food was amazing! We had to wait 15 minutes for a table for 7, which wasn't too long, but I recommend making a reservation. The restaurant serves family-style shared plates.
Absolutely amazing. Best hargow and shumi I have tasted. Deep fried octopus was fabulous. Ambiance and service spectacular. We are out of towners but would return when back in town!
My husband and I met friends of ours last night for a nice dinner out and decided to try Ma Chinese. We were so glad we did!! I must say that eating at this restaurant is quite the experience! The wait staff, although not all of them speak English very well, were very helpful and attentive during the ordering process and the meal. The menu itself is like a magazine and is completely overwhelming at first glance. Once you look closer though, you can see that they have extra pictures and information that adds to the thickness of it. Everything is organized and numbered by section and as long as you realize that the dishes are all huge and are able to be shared, it makes ordering easier. For the group of 4 of us, we started with the Dim Sum. We got 2 orders of the Shrimp Dumplings which gave us 2 each and an order of Hot and Sour Soup to share. All 4 of us got a small bowl from it. It was perfect. For the main course we ordered the Sweet and Sour Fish which was just a huge plate of delicious breaded fish topped with sweet and sour sauce. We each got about 2-3 big pieces from that. For the main course with the fish we also ordered the Pineapple Chicken fried rice and they prepared it without the chicken for us, as some of us didn't eat meat. It was served in a pineapple cut in half! Then we got an order of the Seafood Udon Noodles to share. The noodles has shrimp and squid in it along with veggies. It came on a huge plate. These 3 entrees were plenty for us all to shared, along with the appetizers and a bottle of Megalomaniac Riesling between us. We were all satisfied, but not too full and it was great to try so many authentic dishes. We also thought it was interesting how everything came out a little at a time, sort of Sushi style...intead of all at once. We really enjoyed this experience. Not too pricey in the end either, splitting everything right down the middle. I must mention as well that the restaurant has dimmed lighting that provides a very private and sultry atmosphere. It was nice to feel like we were seperate from other guests and not constantly overhearing other conversations at other tables. You are able to focus on your own evening. We will definitely come back here the next time we are in town.
