I had never been at this restaurant before but went after hearing all the great things about it in town-was not disappointed. I would recommend getting a reservation to make sure you get a table.
Enjoyed visiting Little Red's Pub and Eatery for two evening meals during my recent stay in Canada. Good food on both occasions. Found it a little noisy when visiting with a large party as the noise heads up to the high ceiling. However, much better on the second night when there were two of us. The food was sufficently enticing for us to return the next night. The party enjoyed a variety of dishes both from the menu and the board. A definite not to be missed eating place in St Mary's.
The salmon was freshly cooked (not cold) and moist with a lovely light sauce over it; my granddaughter had a burger which she did not eat, saying it was tasteless (it looked OK to me); Service was a bit inconsistent. waitress was obviously new but really nice so not an issue. we also had a cheese platter of some lovely local cheeses. it is right across the street from a wonderful quilt store, not allowed to use the URLwhich was actually our destination.
The only time in your life to enjoy a little red is as guests of ultraistic chefs Mary and Chris Wolfe. Anything offered as a special should be given special consideration.
We've eaten at Little Red's when we had something special to celebrate, and also when we've just been walking by and decided to go in on the spur of the moment. The quality of the dishes can meet you on many levels. When we want a really good burger, topped with local goat's cheese, a scattering of olives, a side of crisp fries and a nice local micro-brew, they've got us covered. Or if we reserve a spot, we can choose one of the ever-changing specials, like a perfectly roasted salmon with fresh vegetables, and a glass of local mead. When we've been with a group, the restaurant has been very accommodating and everyone finds things on the menu to delight them. The room feels cozy and intimate, and the service is always friendly, personal and prompt. We expect to be back again soon.
