The Prune is a must stop on our annual visit to the Stratford Festival.

Whenever we are in Stratford, The Prune is always a must-stop for us. The menu is creative, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is great. We have never been disappointed. During our latest visit, we enjoyed skate wing and Cornish game hen as our main courses, along with chicken liver pate and potato soup, which were just a few of the standout dishes that pleased our palate.

Getting the small details right leads to a wonderful overall experience at this restaurant. We have been loyal customers for years and have always been impressed with the quality of service and food. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and the dishes are prepared perfectly. The duck breast I ordered was cooked to perfection, and my partner's salmon was outstanding. The starters were delicious and the desserts, while good, could use some improvement in presentation. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely, despite the tables being a bit close together. The prices are on the higher side, with additional charges for bread, but the complimentary appetizers make up for it. The only downside is the basement washrooms, which are in need of renovation. Overall, the experience is worth every penny.

My daughter and I recently dined at Prune for dinner and were extremely impressed with both the service and the food. We started with the freshly-baked sourdough bread, which came with their own salted butter, a soft cheese spread, and pickled vegetables - it was a hit with many other diners as well. For our main courses, we both opted for the three-course meal. The New potato & fresh herb soup, Mountain Oak Gouda croquette, and black pepper was a delicious appetizer, while my daughter enjoyed the Risotto with cherry tomato, basil, thyme & ricotta, and I loved the Seared beef sirloin, soubise, mustard, and fresh peas. Both dishes were superbly executed. For dessert, we indulged in the Raspberry "shortcake", which was a tasty twist on a classic. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and we felt truly welcomed and well taken care of throughout our meal. We will definitely be returning to Prune and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Stratford. The bustling dining room speaks volumes about the quality of the food and service at this restaurant.
