Frego's Grillhouse & Bar

I decided to have a breakfast/brunch here with some friends. To be fair, I found it a little bit on the pricey side. You do get good portions of food, and the breakfast food isn't bad, I have had better in St. Catharines. The service was not exceptionally fast and there were issues with the debit machine. I do believe there is room for improvement so I still would go back sometime.

New to the Area my hubby and I went for a walk one night and decided to pop in for a night cap. We learned it had just been taken over by new ownership and within about 20 minutes the new owner came over to introduce himself and welcome us.He explained to us how he was going to be making some small changes but also leaving a lot of the same things for the loyal regulars. A very nice guy, friendly knowledgeable about the business and easy to talk to. The bartender was also fantastic so nice and great service. We don't go out very often but we did return about a month later for a night cap and again a good experience. Have eaten the wings and some fries and both really good.Wishing Jamie and his crew the best of luck.

My mom suggested we go to this place for dinner as she has been there quite a few times and apparently new owners took over and changed the place. This being my first time here I had no prior expectations, wanted good food, a decent portion and refillable ice tea. I got average food, not enough of it and 1 glass of ice tea with too much ice. I am thinking you get my drift. I may give it another try in a few months but for now it gets an average grade.

We've been loyal Frego's customers for many years - great food, reliable quality, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and an interesting and eclectic clientele made it a fun place to dine or just hang out for an afternoon. Ownership has now passed to new management, and it's too soon to tell if the things that made Frego's great will remain (note: most of the staff is staying on.) In any event, there will be changes - but that is life; we intend to give the new owners a chance. Thank you to Peter and Kathleen who have been great owner/hosts these many years, you will be missed.

Best breakfast ever and fast service. Staff are friendly and knowledgable! Would highly recommend Fregos
