The owner insisted that since we had chosen a table, we had to wait. Keep in mind, I only saw one server and the place was very crowded. We just wanted to get our food to go. We ended up going to Blind Onion and had their thin crust pizza, which was amazing. In fact, I found it to be even better than the pizza at this restaurant. Additionally, I had no issues ordering my food from the bar at Blind Onion. The customer service at this restaurant was absolutely terrible.
I had heard wonderful things about this restaurant and decided to give it a try today. I ordered a calzone and after waiting for about an hour for our food, I asked my server if our order had been lost. She informed me that their oven was down and it would take longer. Unfortunately, the server then left without providing any updates. We requested to speak to the manager who did not seem to care about our concerns. They did comp our appetizer and drink, but overall it was a terrible experience.
The pizza at this restaurant is amazing, which is the only reason I am giving it 2 stars instead of 1. My first cocktail was served at room temperature and only tasted good after I added ice. The second cocktail was terrible and I was charged full price for the first one and half price for the second. The service from our first waitress was excellent, but during our visit there was a shift change and the second waitress was not very competent, although she may have been in training.
Overall experience here, I hope, was a fluke. After hearing some unneeded coworker shaming and sitting for about ten mins without so much as a hello, our order was hastily taken as the chairs of other tables were being stacked around us. We rushed through and didn 't finish anything we ordered in the allotted time we were given, Uh.. we close at 8. Bland caeser to start, but the garlic jalapeño bread thing was phenomenal. The pizza was okay but I had to eat it at home along with our dessert calzones that even though we 're of different fruits, we 're essentially made with the same ingredients. Finished our drinks on the walk out the door.We got there at 7 and should have had plenty of time and not felt rushed.Honestly, not worth $130 for 2 people to feel rushed and neglected. In no rush to return.
First time visit. The offer of a Chicago style deep dish pizza is what drew us to Mamma Celeste's. So that's what we ordered and a small cucumber crunch salad. The cucumber crunch salad was delicious. The veggies were fresh and the vinegaret dressing was oh so good. The pizza had all of the components for a great Chicago style deep dish pizza but just one item made it fall short. The red sauce, good. The toppings good. The depth of the pizza, good. The crispy outside crust, good. The bottom crust, not so good. The bottom pizza dough was no thicker than a regular pizza. If the bottom crust would have been 3/4 thick, then it would have been nirvana.Service good.Atmosphere was lively.Parking sucked.
