I would not have discovered this hidden jewel of a bakery if not written for the amazing rating of my good friend Nikki B. So thank Nikki for introducing me to this charming neighborhood bakery! Union Bakery is small, but they have a number of pastries and bread on the display. I ordered a few different baked goods and was satisfied with my overall decisions. As my friend Nikki mentioned, the Scones are exceptional here. The Scones was filled with fresh cranberries and dusted with sugar at the top. It had the perfect consistency and was not too dry or heavy. But as good as it was, my favorite article was the strawberry cream cheese pastries, which was absolutely crumbling. The cookie was also quite good, and I enjoyed the raspberry compote filling. I wasn't much of a fan of her bread pudding when I felt it was too icey and soggy. Overall, I enjoyed most of the treats I bought this day. The baked goods are here a little expensive, understandable, due to the natural and high quality ingredients they use. So I'll go back, no question, but only if I'm ready to splash because I'm not able to walk away with just one or two pastries. Haha.
I discovered Union Bakery when I drove my wife to work. I wanted to see what they baked. The place is picturesque with two shop windows. They were filled with all their baked treats. As always, when I see a croissant, I have to try. The Croissant cost $4.00. Not bad. It's on the small size. I like my croissant-Crunchy on the outside, chew with many layers on the inside and just the right amount of butter taste. Union Bakery falls off. Not crunchy, not many layers on the inside. It was chewing with a touch of buttery taste. This is not to judge them on the other baked goods. You can be very good. Therefore I will be generous and give them the following: DJ's rating; 3.50/5.00Would I come back? Yeah, to try other bakeries. PS. My favourite place for Croissant is Pastry Delight in Pasadena. I cost croissants from Vancouver, NYC, SF, San Diego, Las Vegas and Boston.
Always freshly baked, secretly and friendly, not hairs, but full of community energy. They can say their customers are regular. Nothing beautiful, expect only a local small bakery that shows years of dedication to their freshly baked, tasty baked goods at a reasonable price. P.S. Of all, her cinnamon roll was unforgettable. The dough was like a pastry and not a bread. It's not too sweet either. It really stood up with the unique twist in texture and would like to go back for more!
Union Bakery is a small family-owned café that was established in 2002. Wally husband takes care of the day-to-day operations, and Joon wife does all the baking. She 's a certified pastry chef. I 've had their lemon bars and cookies before at a friend 's house a few years ago. I remember they were very tasty, so I decided to stop by and pick up a treat for my hairdresser on my way to my appointment. When I walked in I was greeted by the delicious smell of fresh baked goods. It was delightful. Wally was having a friendly conversation with some regulars, and Joon was bringing warm croissants straight out of the oven into the display case. I selected a Blueberry Muffin $4 for Stephanie and a cranberry scone $4 for myself.Stephanie loved the muffin. It was packed with fresh Blueberries. She said it was, So good! The scone was exceptionally good. It had the consistency of a biscuit and contained fresh cranberries and a light sugar coating on top that provided a hint of sweetness. It was delicious warmed up with some butter. I loved it!The place is small with limited seating. Everything is baked with natural ingredients, so the prices are slightly higher. Cold hot drinks are available in addition to quiches and sandwiches, which are served on housemade bread. *Small parking area in the back or street parking.
