I saved some for lunch the next day and it still hit! The owner greeted us and complimented us and was so sweet! It really made me want to watch his films!! I highly recommend to bring a friend or 2 with you because it is a lot of food and a fun experience to eat trying to balance the fruits and veggies on top of the chicken pieces. Can't wait to try it again!
Love love love!!!! Such succulent dark meat. Favorite was the chili sauce. Can't believe one guy does it all!
The best KFC (Korean fried chicken) in LA, HANDS DOWN! This tiny hole-in-the-wall in a busy shopping plaza with $3 valet is so worth the visit. If I lived closer I'd be a regular for sure! The only employee is Director Gol Tong who does everything from wiping down tables, frying up the chicken and plating it all, and checking you out when it's done, and he does it all with the friendliest, welcoming attitude. The chicken is crispy with such delicious sauces from a chili sauce that is like a plum flavored tangy spicy sauce, to a delicious and addictive soy garlic, and a creamy sweet honey mustard. Love all the fresh fruit, avocado and peppers on top that go with the chicken! Do not miss out on this spot. You can also order to-go if you're in a rush, or if there are no tables available and you're craving some delicious fried chicken.
This should be your top choice if you're looking for Korean fried chicken. He does one thing and one thing only. It's fresh, saucy, and yes the fruit on top is an absolute winner. The director is a true joy of a man who loves his craft.
Loved the chicken!! Never had KFC w/ fruit before but I enjoyed the combo. I was with a friend and we ordered half and half of soy garlic and chili, it was more than enough for both of us. Gol Tong was nice and welcoming and we really liked the napkins, gloves, plates and chopsticks were all at the table. The ambiance was a little intense since it is a small place with tv's all around you but we did enjoy watching all the kpop music videos playing and talked a lot about them. Overall, I'd recommend checking out this chicken place for a fun time :
