Emerald Hotel - South Melbourne

Will definitely return. Great atmosphere. Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They went out of their way to seat us on in the Bistro after we had booked in the front bar by mistake. Delicious traditional pub fare.

We've been to the Emerald a few times before always a good experience. But we went there again after a day out at the Melbourne F1 Grand Prix and wow, just had to leave a review! Such a great place, new favourite of ours. We had no booking, but they found us a table even though they were busy. Very friendly staff who go out of their way to make sure you're happy/got what you need. Cozy atmosphere inside (perfect for a cold night). Honestly just a positive place to be! We kept on saying to ourselves how nice the people are. Food is delicious. I had the silverside with mashed potato...such a classic meal from childhood and they nailed it. Super tasty. Great wine too. Highly recommend.

Food was fantastic, Nepalese chicken curry was very delicious. Staff friendly and polite and overall very clean and warm atmosphere.

One of our regular places for a catch up The Emerald Hotel is great for food and beverages. This time our group had excellent T Bone steaks cooked to perfection. The spaghetti with seafood was said to be very good as were the bangers and mash and corned beef. All washed down with cold beers and a Shiraz. Also the added bonus is the excellent friendly service. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.

A great place for a beer and a meal. There is an excellent menu for both the bistro and dining room. The steaks are wonderful but I recommend you try the corned beef either cold with salad or mashed potato and vegetables. The wine list is also very good. The service is always very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.
