L'antica is an unusual restaurant. I have been there a few times and it's clear that they are making a big effort to be authentic, but they need to work on being more organized and professional. The service is quite slow, even when they're not very busy. The pizza is quite good, especially if you enjoy the Naples style.
By chance I came in with my wife and baby daughter for a late Saturday morning breakfast. We were looking for another cafe but missed it, pulled over to check directions and there was L'Antica so we gave it a try. I'm so glad that we did. I found a classy little establishment decked out in genuine Italian style, with my favorite Italian singers playing in the background music (Nek, Ligabue, Giorgia), Birra Moretti in the fridge, and the menu even mentioned the Parco dei Nebrodi region of Sicily, my heritage. There were even Ducati and Vespa motor bikes parked at the front. If all that wasn't enough to fall in love with the place, the eggs with truffle and ciabatta style bread were delicious and uniquely presented and the coffee was just right. The Italian wait staff were delightful and happy to have a chat in Italian and English. Needless to say, we will be back and we'll be bringing friends with us to try the woodfired pizza which looks amazing. Congratulations to the owners who have put together the kind of Italian dining experience and atmosphere that is close to my heart. A prestissimo!
Super friendly and passionate staff, amazing food and lovely wine in a stunning place to add to a perfect evening out. I was really impressed by the quality of the food and the restaurant owner's passion and knowledge about the origins of the very authentic Italian delicatessen and special dishes they serve at L'Antica. Definitely recommend this place.
Have watched as this place has taken forever to open so finally thought we'd check it out tonight. Service was quite disjointed / menu was hard to decipher ..then a little odd ( 4 people served with grilled prawns and 3 slices of bread?). 'Special' desert tonight was oven grilled peaches....2 tinned (or maybe from a jar..)....but not fresh! peaches cut in half and grilled in pizza oven....with a few dollops of cream from a can (!) And some toasted italian bread ...Not very impressed...
