This cafe is average at best. I had read all the reviews and expected something fab. It wasn’t. I had the Pumpkin bread with eggs, spinach and pesto......tasteless. My chai was nice but extremely overpriced at 7.50. My husbands milkshake was 9.00 and nice but...for the amount he received incredibly overpriced. Service wasn’t overly friendly. Would I go back again? No....there are lots more cafes I would try.
We love Little Lefroys. It starts with the best coffee in Fremantle (big call but I stand by it), and ends with creamy scrambled eggs on spectacular ciabatta toast. We come here at least once a week and we are always spoiled by the service,...we enjoy the quiet time before the crowd comes at 8am, and the fact that we have plenty of room to spread out our newspapers.
Last went here in 2019 and still thinking about the breakfast I had here. I had a stressful morning, (awake since 4am) so I thought I would treat myself. Whitewashed walls with large front window made a lovely bright and airy surround. Some pallet boxes...hanging on the wall displaying glassware and bottles gave it a casual air and helped along with the young friendly and smiley staff. At the time, the menu had a kale centric menu so decided to design my own. For $22, I had the marinated mushrooms, slow roasted balsamic tomatoes, smoked salmon and avocado and haloumi. My drink of watermelon, apple and strawberry cost another $9. I enjoyed it very much but it is the fresh avo and especially the cheese that I remember, I have had a few haloumi's but this one was just not charred in the right places but juicy, chewy and just the right amount of salt vs oil. And a year on, I am still thinking of this breakfast.
It was good to see you this place so busy on a very wet day after the relaxation of the strictest Covid restrictions. Our welcome was friendly, and we were assured they would provide our preferred lunches. My companion’s salmon bagel was delicious. He was...well into it while I was still awaiting my toasty. Then the very friendly maitre d’ came to tell us that my toastie was unavailable. This was my only possible option , so we had to leave it at that. It would have been preferable to have been informed before my mate’s meal arrived. Then we could have explored other options.
