If not because the second last one came with vinegar, we might probably miss the hero of the night beef congee.<br/ Overall, for the price of $30.50 per head, I am speechless.<br/ Highly recommanded<br/ Previous rating: Dec 2019 4/5; April 2018 3/5<br/
This time together with Mr, we visited Ben’s for lunch. Quite a bit has changed in this complex and I have noted some new restaurants and bakery, which I am sure will attract the staffs from Mater Hospital. I was craving for pho so we ordered their combination beef pho, and it did not disappoint. The broth was hearty and it was generous in terms of the beef and noodles.
Service was slow but the seafood Chow Mein was had a nice flavour and the king prawns a good size. The decor could be updated but not a derterent for me not to eat there again
I mean the food is great but the place seems quite unclean and unhygienic. Hair has been found in food and the food tends to be quite oily..
A safe and unpretentious Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant in South Brisbane, Ben's restaurant is a classic go-to for your simple weekend dinners if all you want is good company and hearty food. The menu boasts all the authentic Vietnamese classics including pho, rice paper rolls and sizzling hot plates that will easily satisfy those partial to Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. Deciding to stick with what we knew, we ordered the do-it-yourself rice paper rolls (served with the standard salad ingredients and the oh-so-good nuoc cham dipping sauce) with a variation of 3 meats- pork balls, lemongrass pork cutlet and marinated beef hot plate. Simple, generously-served and delicious. The restaurant also has a small bar and modest stage for karaoke nights when you're feeling a little more adventurous. We will be back
