Spectacle Lake Lodge - South Algonquin

Expensive menu but not expensive food. for shrimp on a stick, sweet potato fries, and a few beans, cauliflower with brown spots and a slice of yellow pepper. Pub food for fine dining price.

Stayed here for one night in late July. The cabin has a nice view, fire pit and picnic table. If you are from the city you will probably be impressed. But really at almost a night the room is not really impressive. TV did...not work and they knew this when we arrived but did not inform us on checkin. The carpet a little bit scary. Perhaps four people could sleep in this cabin but the pull out couch was also not really inviting. Dinner at their restaurant was excellent. My pickerel and my partner's chicken special were great. So for breakfast what could go wrong?? Everything. The eggs were not over easy they were hard and burnt. My Western was mad with green onions which would be okay if they were not totally burnt as well. Not sure why such a difference between dinner and breakfast but it should be rectified.

Enjoyed an overnight stay this wonderful resort. Sharon (Owner) personally greeted us and spent time chatting with us after our dinner..and speaking of dinner..the smoked prime rib was superb! We stayed in the lodge and found our room to be comfortable and ideal for...use. The km Spectacle Ridge hike (saturday afternoon) was a highlight! This property is close to Barry's Bay..excellent coffee shop! Courteous staff..delicious break buffet!! Thanks!

Great food and view!! Excellent service by Sheldon at the lodge! Definitely coming back for the famous Sunday Brunch!

Always nice to come here for a dinner. The food is freshly prepared and tasty! Worth the drive to see this gem of a resort and dine facing the lovely Spectacle Lake.
