Verdemare - SORRENTO

We were seated promptly and given menus. The waiter took our order and then we waited. We were brought the food and not knowing how each restaurant prepares the food we trusted we were brought what we ordered. My wife couldn 't eat what she was...brought as it tasted terrible to her, mine didn 't look what I had imagined but trusting that they gave me the right meal I ate it (using a bunch of ketchup). We didn 't see the waiter again until about 20 minutes later he came back and said he brought us the wrong meal. Fortunately neither of us have food allergies. They offered to bring us what we ordered and said they would not charge us for the wrong meals they brought us. We decided to leave and I said I 'll pay for the drinks and the french fries. Much to my surprise they wanted full payment for their incompetence. Even though they originally said we would not be charged for the food, stating you ate the food even through we didn 't get what we ordered you have to pay. I said again that I would pay for the food that was correctly brought to us but that was rejected by them and they demanded full payment. Even though they made the mistake and they were completely unapologetic about. Being in a foreign country and this is my holiday I decided to just pay for their mistake. This was just bad customer service all around. The food that I did have was fair at best. I mentioned that I would post my experience to inform others to beware how customers are valued by this establishment. After walking out of the restaurant the manager/owner came running out and yelled to me to make sure I mention that I ate the food, even though it was not what I ordered. So to show that I honor your request, here it is. I ate the wrong meal. Maybe you can learn from this and treat your customers properly and own up to your mistakes and not make others pay for it. An apology is in order from you, and you can keep the money, that is not the purpose of this evaluation, but of your service and attitude towards customers.

Stavamo cercando un ristorante e abbiamo scoperto il VERDEMARE, devo dire molto tranquillo, ottimo cibo e attenzione al cliente. Un posto fantastico con personale gentile e preparato. Lo consiglio.

Ristorante che è rimasto immobile nei decenni. Gli arredi e l'idea di cucina non sono cambiati. Prezzi corretti, cucina ordinaria. Le pizze sembravano buone ma non le ho assaggiate. Rapporto qualità prezzo onesto.

Family-run restaurant with eating Italian cuisine, relaxing atmosphere and private parking. it is located outside the crowded center near some hotels. if they stay in a nearby hotel, it is a must, but a good option also for others.
