Donna Sofia - Sorrent

Had the lobster pasta dish, it was amazing. The roommate (my wife) had the spaghetti with clams and that it was just as delicious. Highly recommend it if in Sorrento.

Great food and excellent, friendly and attentive service. The spaghetti with clams was fresh and lemony. The ratatouille was flavorful and vegetables had a nice bite. The skin on the sea bass was crisp and all was seasoned to perfection. Pistachio tiramisu was a great way to end the meal. The restaurant was busy, but quiet and we were easily able to have conversation. Great wine selection.

Food was fantastic. I'd give it five stars but the service was ass. I ordered the tasting menu for two. The waiter came back telling us that we should all four do the tasting menu, and when the two that weren't into it pushed back, service went to sh from our waiter. I work in fine dining in america, and I've never had a waiter drop plates at the table like they're throwing a dog a bowl of food lmao. Had to ask multiple times what this mystery food they dropped on us was. Not at all how a tasting menu should be presented. I'd be fired if I did that at home lol. Also, dude forgot my frenet, although it seemed like the guy purposely didn't bring it because I reminded him twice. Sad to say this is the first restaurant I didn't feel welcomed. I don't normally write reviews but this was a bummer. Mind you, our bill was ~500 euro, not that it matters but we weren't nickel and dimming. I ordered a 150 euro bottle of wine I mean c'mon. In two weeks I've been to 6 cities and 20 restaurants. You can pass this one up if you want the restaurant you're spending money at to value you. Please note: the server's assistants were wonderful. The food and the assistant staff the reason I'm still giving a four star. Not fair to judge everybody bc of one guy.

DO NOT RECOMMEND BEWARE THE DOUBLE CHARGE SCHEME! SEE OTHER REVIEW 5/8/23 THAT REFLECTS SIMILAR DOUBLE CHARGE EXPERIENCE. I made a reservation to Donna Sofia restaurant for 13 09 23. I was very excited as my husband and another couple were recommended to eat at Donna Sofia by one of the owners personal friends from Positano. We spent 2 weeks in Italy, ate at many restaurants, and had marvelous experiences in Rome and Sorrento in every case except at Donna Sofia. We were very disappointed for the following reasons: 1. The male maitre d' hotel and male waiter had ZERO personality and expressed little interest in connecting with us as guests. Zero customer service skills. They were only interested in processing us through the food mill as fast as possible. 2. It was recommended that I try the gnocchi because Donna Sofia made it the best and it is a favorite of mine. Yet, it, and the other food ordered, was mediocre at best. 3. Our bill came to over 300 Euros which we were happy to pay. We only asked the server to split the bill between 2 credit cards. When the male server made the charge, he charged each card over 300 Euros. When one of the members of our party brought the double charge error to the attention of the male server, he was rude. He acted as if we were criminals for pointing out the error. He made excuses and although the maitre d'hotel was apprised there was no effort to assure us that it was a mistake or that our business was appreciated. THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER DELICIOUS PLACES TO EAT AT IN SORRENTO. DON'T BOTHER!!
