Sakura Express - Slidell

I just want to say how much I miss you!! We moved to NC and have another Japanese restaurant that makes good food like you. We ordered Steak hibachi yesterday from a restaurant here and was disappointed by the presentation and the product we got. It was nothing compared to what you all serve your customers. I had to repair my Hibachi myself to taste it something near you. Gosh, I miss Yall!!!!!!!!!

This place is always a favorite the food is great, the prices are decent and the staff super friendly. In any case, check whether you are looking for a low key going out option for a lazy Friday night.

9/18/2018 editing 7 months since my last review I have not come here anymore. It's not the food, not the price, not the service. It is the competition, because when I pass, I see Canes, Chick Fil A, Panda Express and Golden Dragon. Although 4-5 star restaurant is determined by other reviews, I pointed out that as a customer, I like this restaurant, but the problem is why not I come back within days, weeks or even months. Since the road is very busy, I see most people at Canes or Chick Fil A, when people have time, they go to Golden Dragon. And if possible you can choose Sakura Express vs Panda Express. Mostly I am the busy person on the busy road that goes to Canes or Chick Fil A. And if possible I could go to the Sakura Express, but if I go to Rouses, I can stop using Panda Express or if I want to relax and eat, I could go to the Golden Dragon. If I need gas and a quick drink, I'll go to Race Trac. The problem is, this place is not that convient is still exciting, just like what happened to the closed buildings next to him. How can this place continue to be exciting and convenant? My proposal is something that Golden Dragon has not done yet, do what Canes and Chick Fil A have in common (non-fried chicken Simple and convient cheap price foods that come in simple containers. If this doesn't work as exclusively trying to sell fried chicken and frits along with sushi or something like the yum sauce ever comes (for the fried chicken. As if this place sells good and fresh delicious Fried Chicken, I could stop here more often just because the lines in Canes and Chick Fil A get too long. As a customer who loves Peace Chicken and Asian cuisine that goes to Canes more often than many other people. I'd come back with sushi for fried chicken. Welcome : Food and quality is amazing! My favourite item is the Steak Bento Box. Large amount of food with sushi, dumpling, Fried Rice, steak, vegetables, ginger, wasabi, a drink, and this amazing sauce would you all on them for the price of $11.25 Many different soy sauces and food is not expensive as most people would think. The highest price is $11,95 and its Steak Hibachi or something like it. Amazing food! Food tastes like it should, kitchen is brand new, and service is very friendly. I recommend those who want to hang around with friends or go on a date. This is not a Chinese restuarant, which is a Japanese restaurant with a take-out option. This is not expensive at all, but it is worth a little more than a Chinese take out. Good place to eat, and surely my special occasions come here. 11 of 10

As I heard by the word of the mouth that they have had owners and tbh I can believe it. Their prices have risen and food quality has remained the same or has decreased somewhat. Not the worst place to repair your sushi or hibachi, but not the best.

We were just informed that they switched owners. The food is nowhere near as good as it used to be. If you're looking for the same delicious taste Sakura used to have, maybe we can find it elsewhere. The sushi is super fishy tasting, the yum-yum sauce has no flavor, and the meat is so dried out.
