Middendorf's Slidell

The first time at this point, but it's just as good as the other. We all ate the thin fried catfish. It was perfect as usual. The large plate is much for most.

Great serviceand amazing thin fried Catfish! I was very pleased with my experience at this restaurant. Can't wait to come back!

I really like the outdoor seating my son loves the kids play area (sand pit). There’s buckets to play with, covered areas so you don’t have to be in the sun while playing in the sand, Adirondack chairs to have a drink relax while the kiddos play. There’s also a rinse station to wash away the sand after play. The food was ok. The thin catfish is extremely thin, like paper, but the taste isn’t bad. We ordered two seafood platters they came out within 5 minutes, hot fresh. The fries were just warm, I’ve had better hush puppies, the oysters were disgusting. The sweet tea was gross but the shrimp were good. I like the atmosphere the most because my son can play while we eat (on the porch).

Servers were friendly, food was okay. We got the Middendorf's special and Fried shrimp and Oysters, oysters catfish was good, I didn't care about the shrimp. **** Mary was so good. Italian Oysters were good. Above average prices.

Service was Awesome, our server Zach was very efficient and well mannered, non stop service, knowledgeable of menu. THE FOOD HOWEVER WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING, PRESDNTED WELL EYE APPEALING BUT TASTE WAS PRETTY BAD, ESPECIALLY THE OVER STUFFED CRAB, STUFFED WITH TASTELESS DRY BREAD AND SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT CRAB, MIXED SO TIGHT YOU CO U LD HARDLY PIERCE IT WITH A FORK HAD TO COVER WITH TARTAR SAUCE TO ACHIEVE TASTE AND MAKE MOIST THUS GIVE SOME SORT OF FLAVOR.!.THE FRENCH FRIES WERE COLD PITIFUL, VERY SMALL PIECES, HARD/ TOUGH, SEEMED HOURS OLD. THE HUSH PUPPIES were also alittle TIGHT OVER MIXED,CHEWY. SORRY TO SAY I HAVE DINED AT THE ESTABLISHMENT for years and have brought guests here to eat seafood. BUT I WOULD BE TOO EMBARRASSED TO BRING ANYONE HERE UNLESS THE KITCHEN RE WORKs THEIR RECIPE FOR SOME OF THE DISHES OR TEMPORARILY REMOVE THEM OFF MENU...TRUE YOU WILL SEE THAT THE PRESENTATION of the food looks very Eye Appealing BUT that's as far as it goes..TASTE is beyond DISSAPOINTING Costly to the dinning guests...I Know prices are high for Crab meat, but TAKE it off menu UNTIL it's worth some flavor..The Thin Fried Fish is Still a Classic. Very Good. FLAVORFUL BATTER N SPICES. The coleslaw is still tasty too. SEE pics of EYE APPEALING Entrées on some of the dishes BUT beware of lack of taste. HOPE NEXT VISIT WILL YIELD MORE THAN 2 STARS
