'Hops and Berries '..the drinks were good. The service was good too. ORTO great place to unwind or go with family.
Orto park is the place I would go to enjoy Mookata. Tried various outlets but the atmosphere/ambience/outdoor seating at Orto is what makes the difference.
I’m not sure if it’s still taste garden because now the menu’s name is called relax zone, but anyways; Food is generally good, nothing extraordinary, though the tom yum seafood pasta doesnt really taste like tom yum, maybe because of the content of the cream. The mussels and the prawns are fresh and succulent. The mushroom cream pasta is creamy and filling too. The fried platter is pretty okay too. Fish and chips; the fish is fresh and tastes good and flaky as well! Comfortable ambience, although the lighting is a little dark, some may like it, some may find it uncomfortable.
Halal restaurant at ORTO. They serve both western and local cuisines. Some of the dishes are spicy so ask the staff to reduce spice if you can’t take too much chili. The staff are kind and polite.
Making my way to this restaurant was itself interesting. Since I wasn't familiar with Yishun area I didn't even know that tucked away from the hustle bustle was this restaurant along with other restaurants, beer garden a lake (Orto). First impression of Taste Garden Restaurant, I thought it needed a makeover unless that was the intention. The interior was slightly dark, simply decorated with no frills. However, the service staff were very courteous were able to recommend their signature dishes. The variety of dishes were quite impressive. For starters we had the Bruschetta (grilled bread with Cherry Tomato, Garlic, Olive Oil, Herbs and Pesto). It was good. I also recommend their Briyani rice with Lamb Shank. The meat was tender rice was light flavourful. The Duck confit (Confit de Canard) with the side dishes of mashed potatoes sautéed mushroom was surprisingly well prepared as the flavour of the duck was not too overpowering. The fried rice with shrimp chicken as well as the Satay were fairly good too. For desserts we had Lava Cake Chocolate brownie. Regrettably, the food took a fairly long time to be served. We arrived at 5.30pm around 4 other tables were already occupied. So we didn't expect the food to take more than half hour to be served. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a Halal restaurant with a nice quiet surrounding, not located in a shopping mall or hotel for a change, serves a decent variety of Local Asian Western food at affordable prices you might want to give this restaurant a try.
