This hidden gem in the old estate of Jln Bt Ho Swee is a good place if you want good and reasonable price food. The cook is able to bring up the alluring wokhei aroma of the San Lo Horfun. The Assam fish head wrapped in opeh leaf has just the right combination of Swee sour spiciness. The crunchiness of the freshly fried french beans won the tastebuds of all and their deep fried garlic crispy pork is another must try.
Fried Garlic Pork, Oyster Egg on Hotplate, 3 Egg Spinach and Small Cucumber Soup. A cze char stall that serve dishes that are not commonly found at other cze char stalls. The hits here were the fried garlic pork, very very fragrant and tasty. And the cucumber soup is actually quite homely.
Good food and very very reasonably priced menu. The pig trotter’s bee Hoon was spot on, so is the garlic pork dish. The egg omelette dish has a little otah taste to it, wonder if it’s some rempah inside the concoction. Quite hard to get to the place if you’re coming by MRT, about 8-10min from Tiong Bahru. Nearest bus stop is about 5min away as well. But the food and value is worth the distance!
As a 40 y/o Singaporean, I felt the standard of Zi Char has dropped over the years. Yet Jia Wang is surprisingly good! Will definitely return. 到底的新加坡煮炒!
We tried this place following recommendation from my sister in law. The food we ordered for take away was: oyster omelette, prawn paste chicken, spinach with dual eggs, long beans with dried shrimps, deep fried garlic pork and sweet sour slice fish. Thumbs-up for the food. They are tucked into a quiet corner along bukit ho swee. When we called at 5pm to phone order, some vegetables have already sold out. We were were advised to pick up at 7pm as there was plenty of orders via food ordering apps. Second visit on 13 Jul. Tried their curry fish head. Very good, just nice in terms of spiciness.
