The service was outstanding, and the bartender demonstrated a deep knowledge of mixer combinations for various drinks. I highly recommend it, especially for gin enthusiasts.
I visited the restaurant on a Friday night. Although the service was a bit slow due to being understaffed, the staff were all polite and friendly. One of the servers accidentally spilled my friend's drink while serving it at our table, but she was very apologetic and even offered her a complimentary shot as an apology. It wasn't necessary, but it was much appreciated. I ordered the bramble, which was quite good, and the cottage pie. Oh man, it’s so hard to find a decent cottage pie in Singapore, so I was really looking forward to it. It did not disappoint—it was perfect for the rainy weather and hit the spot! My friends, however, weren't as fond of their cocktails. They had a glittery drink that they struggled to finish.
I visited this restaurant for a second time and had a great experience overall! It was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night, and we stayed until closing at 9:30 PM. We mostly ordered from the all $9.90 menu. If you're unsure about what to choose, you can search for drinks in the PDF menu, which displays the flavor notes for each one. This really helps in deciding between fruity, floral, or spiced gins. The staff was relaxed and laid-back, which added to the nice atmosphere. We were lucky to snag a spot in a cozy corner sofa area! We also had caramel popcorn as a side with our drinks. Unfortunately, the kitchen had closed by the time we got there, so we couldn’t try anything from the food menu. Overall, I recommend this place if you're looking for a simple and relaxed spot to drink and chat. It's conveniently located near one of the Raffles Place MRT exits by UOB Plaza.
We had a wonderful evening at the restaurant. They offer an extensive selection of gin, and while the beer and wine choices are somewhat limited, they are reasonably priced, which works well for the target audience. The food was excellent, with a menu that shares many items with Penny Black downstairs, ensuring solid and good-value meals. A special shoutout to the staff, particularly Steven, who provided first-class service with his attentive and proactive approach. Thank you to the whole team! We will definitely return.
There’s also a good selection of cocktails starting from SGD 25, with most priced at SGD 25. Although they are on the pricier side, they provide great value as the bartender crafts these cocktails skillfully. The bar food offers a nice variety, mostly in a British pub style but of good quality. I tried the penny chicken, also known as chicken cordon bleu, which was delicious, and the thick-cut fries were delightful as well. The staff here are generally friendly and helpful, especially the lady in glasses, who seems to be the manager. She was warm and attentive to her customers, making the experience feel more personal. Chatting with her was like talking to a friend.
