We were recommended this restaurant by a sales guy in the Sim Lim electrical mall across the way. We would never have wandered into this as it just looks pretty ordinary from the front, but we were so please that we did.<br/ <br/ The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly with us, particularly the old man who stopped and chatted and regularly ensued everything was ok.<br/ <br/ If you are in this area, or frankly, even if you are not, you should deinitely try this place. Really well worth it!
We had received a recommendation to visit this restaurant on evening. It has both inside and outside dining. We arrived at about 8pm and were seated at the only table available that was outside. We were promptly given menus and after our food was ordered it arrived within 10 minutes. We were extremely pleased with our main dish sweet and sour fish in batter. the batter was light and the fish moist and tasty.
Less hype and known spot. Pretty popular among the locals. Just a block away from Albert’s Hawker Centre. Lau Ban is so nice and friendly. My dad used to know his dad, Alex if I’m not mistaken. Lau Ban even allowed us to pop our wine without corkage. Funnily he was doing the close-one-eye-for-you impression when I asked about corkage fee. I ate **** ton of meals in this spot. Must try Yang Zhou fried rice, steamed fish, roasted pork, char kwetiaw, tomiau, chicken soup or their soup of the day. Price is quite cheap. Lit .
We recently visited this restaurant and we were not disappointed, We knew it was going to be good when we arrived as we had to queue to get in, but the quality of the food was fantastic and not too expensive either, we will return when we are next in Singapore
