Sam's Southern Eatery - Shreveport

The restaurant was alright, but they are not providing customers with the quality they are paying for. They are deceiving customers by serving basa instead of catfish, the breading was overly salty, and the tartar sauce was disappointing. The photo shown is actual catfish that I fried myself. As a cook, I can confirm that they are cheating their customers. Next time you order catfish from them, compare it to the catfish in my photo.

Great food!!! Was in town for gambling and found this little gem. We had the fish, shrimp and crake cakes DELICIOUS. My friend had the gizzards and fried chicken AWESOME!!! The Mac and cheese and the red beans and rice was excellent!!! I recommend this little place!!!

I tried this restaurant for the first time last Friday after living in Louisiana for 9 years. I had the chicken Philly and it was delicious. I regret not trying this place sooner.

This is the only restaurant I've found that doesn't offer the 3 whole catfish dinner. I had to settle for the 2 whole catfish and add an extra fish. Also, my red beans and rice tasted spoiled - why?

I ordered the 4 piece fried fish plate and was very disappointed because the fish was extremely overcooked. The flavor of the fish was great, but it was difficult to overlook the rubbery texture. Fries were good. Hush puppies were good, but smelled burnt.
