The Appalachian - Sevierville

We had dinner reservations for our anniversary. We ordered the 48oz Tomahawk steak well over $120 and being a paying customer you wouldn't think you had to cut your own steak, having to hold the bone.. Although, there was no specific dress code we did arrive nicely dressed, HOWEVER, my husband had to roll up his sleeves and cut our own steak. Being from out of state we have visited several high end restaurants and every time we've ordered a big Tomahawk steak it has been served evenly sliced for one to enjoy.

Ok, it isn't cheap, and if you are in Pigeon Forge with your small children, this probably isn't your go to spot. If you are looking for exceptional food, which while not cheap is a good value, head immediately to the Appalachian. Parking was trivial and they took us in even though we were early for our reservation. We will definitely stop here again when we are in the area.

Great food, atmosphere, and service. It is outside of the normal food experiences in Pigeon Forge.

This is an amazing restaurant...not just for this town...for the region. Impeccable service with a sophisticated menu of food and drink. They are also very kind....having mailed my left behind card half way across the country!

This was probably the best meal I've had in about 10 years. Local fresh ingredients prepared in interesting ways that harken back to all of the good food my family made growing up. The wait staff was excellent, the atmosphere inviting, and just a wonderful experience. Chef came around to inquire about our experience, a very nice touch. The steak I had and the fish dish my wife had was just ... indescribably good. Just amazing. I can't recommend it enough. Well done!!
