I am a big fan of Mexican food but struggle to find authentic Mexican restaurants in Seoul that use the right ingredients. Cuchara offers good Mexican dishes, although they may not always be completely traditional. Located behind the COEX CJ Food Court, Cuchara serves vegan burritos, tacos, nachos, and other standard Mexican fast food. Whether you choose a vegan or non-vegetarian menu, each dish is made from scratch. Customers can customize their order by selecting the type of dish (Burrito/Burrito Bowl/Taco), type of beans, sauce, and toppings. The only vegan protein option is tofu. Portions are generous and diners can choose brown rice instead of salad or white rice for a healthier option. Guacamole is available but the texture may not be to everyone's liking. The nachos are not recommended. Prices are affordable and filling. If you're looking for a budget-friendly meal while shopping at COEX, Cuchara is a good option. Overall, we rate it a 5 to 6 out of 10.
This is a great place to visit if you are in the area. The food was not spectacular, but it was tasty and I would definitely return. Unfortunately, they do not offer complimentary water. For directions: When facing the food court, turn right and head towards the ATMs. Take a left there and you will see the establishment's name above a staircase. Walk down the stairs and it will be on your right.
I am a big fan of Mexican food, but it's hard to find authentic Mexican restaurants in Seoul that serve the right kind of beans. Cuchara, located behind the Coex CJ Food Court, offers vegan burritos, tacos, nachos, and other Mexican fast food options. Whether you choose a vegan or non-vegetarian menu, you can customize your dish from scratch. Pick your type (burrito, burrito bowl, taco), choose your beans (they have two options), select your sauce (spicy or mild), and add sides like tofu or veggies. Cuchara is like a Mexican Subway for salads, with generous portions and the option to swap white rice for brown rice. I suggest skipping the guacamole, as the texture is odd, and avoiding the nachos altogether. Overall, the meals are affordable and satisfying, making Cuchara a great choice for a budget-friendly meal while shopping at Coex. It's light on your wallet but will keep you full for hours.
This restaurant is a good option if you are in the area. The food, while not extraordinary, was delicious and I would definitely return. One downside is that they do not offer complimentary water. To find the restaurant, stand in front of the food dish and turn right towards the ATMs. Take a left at the ATMs and look for the name above a staircase. Go down the staircase and the restaurant will be on your right.
