A fun place to go when the weather is nice - open Thurs and Fridays. The catering service is excellent - always fresh and ready for pick up on the date they give you.

Wonderful place to eat on a Thursday or Friday evening outdoors. Pizza is wonderful...atmosphere relaxed and service great.

I eat at Benjamins every week. Have never had a bad lunch or supper. Pizza in the summer on the outdoor patio is the best anywhere but you have to make a reservation.

Benjamin's Gourmet Foods has been a great addition to Selkirk since it opened. It has been exciting to see each step of the expansion by Red Seal Chef and Baker Mary-Jane Feeke and her family. When she first opened there were a few tables and everything was done out of one building. Mary-Jane operated her catering business out of that building and even catered for Prince Edward during his visit to Selkirk. They opened the Courtyard for wood fired pizza. A covered outdoor eating area with a patio as well. We have been attending the Thursday and Friday wood fired pizza evenings since they started. It has been a great place to take visitors and we have a group of friends who we go with quite frequently. Entry is now through the storefront Cafe/Pantry on Manitoba Avenue.The experience is unique and is built on the honor system, which many people have a hard time to believe. Each table has a number, and there is a clipboard with the menu items on the sheets of paper. One for appetizers/salads, one for drinks, one for pizza, and one for desserts. For drinks, you take the paper up to the bar and place your order. You then mark off the drinks on your paper. When you have decided what food you are going to order, you simply mark it on sheets and take it up to staff who will put in the order. Everything is made to order so it is very fresh. They have a gluten free crust and are always prepared to deal with allergy issues. Each week there are usually two chef special pizzas for variety. There are, like us, many repeat customers. The wood fired pizza is only open Thursday and Friday evenings throughout the summer. Reservations are recommended from our experience, and can be done online.We enjoy the food and the social outing. We often get to see people we know.When you are done, you simply take your sheets of paper into the Cafe/Pantry to pay as you exit. If you did not order one of the menu items for dessert, you have another chance in the Cafe/Pantry where there is usually an assortment of desserts like brownies and cookies that you can get to go. There are also jams, sauces, preserves, birch syrup and other gourmet items for sale.On Saturdays we like to go for coffee and cinnamon buns, ham and cheese stuffed rolls, or a variety of other pastries and breads. There are several tables available for lunch in the Cafe/Pantry. There are soups, salads, quiche, calzones and paninis available. The Cellar is downstairs and we have attended Mother's Day, an evening with Simpsons Follies, retirement parties, and other functions. The food has always been excellent.Mary-Jane also does catering and you can order for your party and pick it up or she will cater your event as she did for my retirement function. She also offers cooking classes and cake decorating classes.Mary-Jane is an amazing person as is all of her staff. We are lucky to have such a resource like Benjamin's in Selkirk.Unfortunately another woodfired pizza has come to an end. Can't wait for next summer

This restaurant has old world charm in that it not only serves a fresh menu everyday, but their are shelves around the restaurant with various gourmet foods you can buy. We had the panine, the day we were there, and it was rather inspiring to say the least. Benjamin's also serves stone roasted pizza in the evening on Thursday and Friday. Make sure you make a reservation for the evening dining.
