This is a place few tourists visit but those who do are in for a treat. The facts are; Seekirchen...is just a short, cheap and efficient train ride away from Salzburg. Trains run frequently and late. Weintraube is about a 10 minute walk from the station. This is a traditional Austrian restaurant that is frequented by people living in Seekirchen and surrounding area. For those who want a different experience why not try the Tatarenhut or Fondue? This is great for groups. But you will need to make a reservation and advise that you’d like this in advance. Weintraube can accommodate large groups. It has a vibrant atmosphere and the most outstanding service thanks to the owner Eva and her fantastic team. Weintraube offers outstanding value fir money. As Weintraube can be very busy, I would recommend making a reservation. You will not be disappointed. We will be back at the first opportunity.
We have visited Weintraube numerous times over the past couple of years when in Austria. It is a favourite because of the great hospitality shown by owner Eva and her team. This time we returned with friends from the UK who have never been before...and great friends from the local area who had never before been to Weintraube. It was fantastic to be able to introduce them all to Weintraube. Having previously stayed in Seekirchen and walked a short distance to Weintraube we stayed in Salzburg this time and took a short and smooth train journey from the city out to Seekirchen. Trains run regularly and the journey is between 11 15 minutes and cost €10,80 return. A weekly ticket is highly recommended if making numerous trips. The walk from the station less than 10 minutes. Trains run regularly but a taxi ride is a realistic alternative for those who would prefer it. We booked our table in September in readiness for our return in December. Whilst it is not necessary to make your reservation that far ahead it made us feel part of the community and gave us something to look forward to. To enhance the experience we decided to share a Tatarenhut between the six of us ..... well two Tatarenhut's to be precise. If you've never tried this I can highly recommend it. Tatarenhut offers an interactive dining experience that enables you to tailor what you eat to your preferences. The food was high quality and plentiful. This was an enjoyable evening, one that we hope to repeat in the future. If visiting Weintraube, take time to say hello to Eva who is an incredible person and most outstanding host. Weintraube sits at the heart of the community of the beautiful and friendly Seekirchen. The lake at Wallersee is just a short walk away and well worth a visit. Having visited Weintraube for dinner one evening at the start of our holiday we were walking...through the town when the owner Eva saw us and noted that we had been in the restaurant the evening before. The fact that we had been remembered and greeted in such a way led us to respond by saying that we would be back later. We visited Weintraube on five evenings altogether eating on four and enjoying a drink on the other. Each time we tried something different from the menu and each time the service and food was fantastic. The Tatarenhut (a traditional dish) is a must for those who enjoy a more interactive experience. Weintraube is a place that many local people visit to eat, drink and socialise. it 's decor is both traditional and tasteful in a wooden finish. Eva is a great host and every single member of the Weintraube team provided outstanding service, they are always smiling and clearly enjoy interacting with each other and their customers. Weintrabe is a place that can be enjoyed at any time of the year. There is no doubt that we will be returning to Weintraube when next visiting Austria. If staying in Seekirchen this would undoubtedly be our local . If staying in Salzburg Weintraube is well worth visiting. You can either walk or take one of the many buses from the centre of Salzburg to the Hauptbahnhof main station, in either case it only takes a few minutes. Likewise the train journey trip only takes a few minutes and trains run regularly throughout the day until late. Both the bus and train journeys only cost a few Euro 's. A weekly ticket giving unlimited access to the bus and train is well worth considering. Weintraube is a short, easy 5 minute walk from Seekirchen railway station and is safe to walk at anytime night or day. Weintraube is a great place for all age groups. It is open daily from Monday to Saturday from 17:00 to 01:00. You can be sure you will be made to feel welcome so go and see for yourself, you will not be disappointed.
