We've frequently visited Scotia over the years for weekend getaways. Main and Mill was a great addition and an asset to have great food right on site. On our last visit it was clear there had been major changes at the restaurant. We ordered the special, which was a quesadilla and the steak sandwich. Both were flavorless and seemed to be fully microwaved. We were so disappointed especially having experienced how good it was before. Truly a scavenger dinner from the market across the way is a better bet.
Quirky place which was formerly the main housing for the lumber mill workers and has now been converted into a hotel and restaurant. The restaurant experience is not what you would expect. You order at a window and then pick up your order when it's ready. The seating area is huge and open and you can feel the history of the place feeding a town full of lumberjacks. We ordered burgers and fries. Food was good, nothing extraordinary but it certainly hit the spot after a long day of hiking.
This was our second visit, and the first in a few years. The beers were pretty good, and our food was as well. The service staff were all great expect for our server who also provided inaccurate information which led to us not having a great dining experience.
Beer fry's slap, lemon cheesecake is also very delicious. Very cute place to stop in and have a nice casual lunch.
